Luu Thi Diem Huong, a 20-year-old contestant from Ho Chi Minh City, was crowned Miss Vietnam World 2010 at the finale of the beauty pageant in the resort city of Nha Trang on Saturday night.

Huong is a sophomore at the Hoa Sen University in HCMC.

The first runner-up was Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Khanh, who was born and grown up in Germany. She also won the Miss Vietnam Europe title in 2009.

The second runner-up was Pham Thuy Vy Victoria, who is studying at the University of California, Berkeley. She was also crowned Miss Asia California in 2009.

Miss Viet Nam World received a cash prize of VND500 million ($25,600), while the first runner-up was awarded VND300 million ($15,400) and the second runner-up VND200 million ($10,300).

The organizing committee also awarded prizes for Miss Sports, Miss Talent, Miss Ao Dai (traditional dress), Miss Fashion, Miss Beach, Miss Friendly, Miss Photographic, Miss Beautiful Face and Miss Elegance. Each of the winners was presented with VND30 million (US$1,500) in cash.

Miss Vietnam World 2010 Luu Thi Diem Huong also won the Miss Photographic title, while the first runner-up Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Khanh and the second runner-up Pham Thuy Vy Victoria were voted Miss Beach and Miss Sports respectively.

US operatic pop vocal group Il Divo made its debut on Vietnamese stage with the performances of three songs - Amazing Grace, Unbreak my heart and The winner takes it all - at the finale.
