A delegation of foreign military attaches in Vietnam visited some key units of the Vietnamese military, including naval and air force units, between January 24 and 31, Vietnam News Agency reported Monday.

They called on the headquarters of the Fifth Military Zone in the south-central region and Central Highlands.

They visited army, naval, and air force training schools besides doing sightseeing at some cultural relics.

The visit is expected to boost relations with foreign military forces.

By exchanging visits, Vietnam has been strengthening military ties with countries like Australia, South Korea, India, Singapore, China, the US, and some European nations.

In 2009 a delegation of 26 foreign military attaches arrived in Vietnam to call on General Vo Nguyen Giap who masterminded Vietnam’s victories over the French and American invaders.
